Last weekend marked the first in a while that Joe and I had to ourselves and at home.We went for a long walk out on Sauvie Island (usually our spring/summer haunt) exploring the Warrior Rock trail. It was a nice 7 mile trail, starting at the end of Collins Beach (which was unknown to us until driving past) walking along the sand for a bit and then back up into the woods until the end of the island where there is a small and distressed looking lighthouse. We had positively gorgeous weather and a nice clear view of Mt. St. Helens.
It was especially nice to be able to get up and get some errands done and still have enough daylight to do the length of the trail. We spent the better part of the morning getting geared up for spring planting; purchasing seeds, some hanging baskets and bamboo poles for trellis structures. I think I might start some seeds inside this weekend...or maybe next weekend. It has been at least 60 degrees in our house for the last week. I feel like I can chance it. What is less certain is if the cats will allow me to. . .

This past weekend was so nice it tricked us into thinking it was time for gardening. We did some preliminary yard work (which felt wonderful) and are trying to decide what to do with the beds and containers. I can't wait!
HAHA we got the same bug, but in order to even start thinking about gardening at our place we have to remove the blackberries, but in order to remove the blackberries we have to remove the porch on the side of the house that blocks access to the backyard. So we ripped down that porch to make way for driving the truck into the backyard and a new patio. anyone need some wood?

Yeah- Goats can go right through your house.
well the problem with goats is the $. you'd be surprised how expensive they are to "rent" (something like 300 bucks a day). I thought it'd be cheap since we'd be feeding them but I guess thats not the case.
Scott, blackberries don't fuel the F350 needed to pull them to your house. It's not like goats can go on the interstate. They're not very good towing animals either.
